Learn to Use Your Superpowers

Black and white comic strip depicting a young woman in various scenes. She first walks towards a building labeled "National Association for the Eradication of Mental Illness." Followed by her expressing a range of emotions, from confusion to sadness. Next, she encounters a sign for "The Icarus Project," suggesting learning to use her gifts. The final panel shows her smiling with others, ending the story.

  • Do you feel like you have a heightened sensitivity to the world around you?

  • Have you ever felt like you can perceive multiple layers of reality at once?

  • Do you believe you possess unique insights or abilities that others might not understand?

  • Have you been told that your intense experiences or visions are signs of mental illness?

  • Do you sometimes feel overwhelmed by the depth of your emotions and thoughts?

  • Are you searching for a way to harness your extraordinary gifts in a positive way?

  • Do you want to connect with others who understand the challenges and strengths of living with powerful inner experiences?

  • Do you believe that what some call madness might actually be a form of brilliance?

So many of the things labeled “mental disorders” have important lessons to teach if you can learn how to harness their power. Our sensitivities can get us in trouble but if we learn to use them it’s like having superpowers. This is much easier to do with other people who know what it’s like. When it comes down to it, so much of what gets called “mental health” and “mental illness” is about communication: how you communicate with your internal world and how you communicate with the people in your life who care about you.
